I was feeling like a burger, and I was visiting friends in Thorneside - with Birkdale literally just up the road, I stumbled upon Thick Buns. So happy we found this place! So far we have dined in and takeaway and tried the Wow Burger, the Big Bird Burger, the onion rings and the pineapple fritters. The burgers are yummy, with nice soft buns, the onion rings are perfectly crumbed and cooked. The pineapple fritters are the best I’ve had in ages, anywhere in Brisbane! I’m told they have been there for 6 months, and already have well deserved 5 ⭐️ reviews. The service is friendly, the food is perfectly cooked, and orders are served promptly. This team is Seriously good!! 🫶🏼 🍔

Oh. My. God. OMG. This place is amazing. I was going to go to a different burger joint but saw this was closer so I thought I’d try it out. Very very glad I did. The burger was so very tasty and fresh. The bun was soft and not gluggy when moist. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of cheeses and sauces. The chicken loaded fries were to die for. Sooo good. I could live on those. Next time I might get extra cheese but they were still soooo good.

We had the Big Bird chicken burger and Big Fella beef burger with large fries and a pineapple ring. These are by far the best hamburgers we’ve eaten in a very very long time. Cannot recommend highly enough. The chips were cooked perfectly. Nice crunch and not soggy. And the pineapple ring was soooo tasty. We will definitely eat here again.

Burgers were very average , buns not toasted , chicken burger was just a frozen schnitzel heavily processed , cow burger was again average. Sauces were clearly praise mayo and cheap condiments. Pretty disappointing for our first time there. However , there chips were fantastic and service was great. For $20 a person spend a couple extra bucks and go to hashtag burgers and waffles where everything is made in house and you can smell the grill going , not cookie cutter frozen ingredients reheated.
